What’s the difference between photoshop and photoshop elements?

Posted on 08. Sep, 2011 by admin in photoshop

What’s the difference between photoshop elements 7 and photoshop 7? Which one has more features? Which one’s better? I want to know before I spend money on one thing when I should have spent it on the other.

1. I used Photoshop 7 in 2002 or 2003. It’s a very old version. The newest version of Photoshop – and the only one you can legally purchase from Adobe and its resellers – is Photoshop CS4.

2. "Better" doesn’t mean much if you’re not willing to spend the time to learn how to use those features. Which program is "better" depends on what you plan on doing to your photos. If you’ve never used a photo editing program or have only used the basic editors like Picasa, Picnik, etc., then get Photoshop Elements to learn the basics of Photoshop: resizing, workflow, the Main Menus, how to use Styles, etc. These are the same in Elements and Photoshop because Elements is a build of Photoshop. When you outgrow Elements and are ready to move to Photoshop, you can get the cheaper upgrade pricing.

3. If you’re an experienced photo editor and know that you need channels, a full compliment of adjustment layers, vector drawing tools, Lab Color Mode and CMYK separation for professional printing or maybe you just can’t wait to start recording your own actions, then buy Photoshop CS4.

Which Photoshop is best for simply coloring images and drawings of mine?

Posted on 31. Aug, 2011 by admin in photoshop

I want to ask for Photoshop for Christmas so that I can color my artwork and upload it for my friends, but I have no clue which is best for this. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Elements. Photoshop Elements. its surprisingly inexpensive ($75) but it is a really good product. it is simple, has a nice interface, seems just perfect for coloring. I have it btw and i also have cs2 but i dont even use it because elements is so much better. Admittedly, elements doesnt have as many little functions that cs2 and 3 have, but it has everything you will need. If you would like some proof, heres some art of mine i have done in Elements. http://paleo12.deviantart.com/

What kind of Photoshop project should I do for Digital Design class?

Posted on 28. Aug, 2011 by admin in photoshop

I’m trying to think of a project I can do with Photoshop. I’m a novice at using Photoshop, but what are some things I can do with it that aren’t too hard, but aren’t too easy either?

You can take pics of yourself of someone you know and put them with a different background. Like make it look like you went to Europe or something. Photoshop yourself into that setting.

You can also put your head on a different body or something. It’s not too difficult to do, but in order to get it to look real, you have to work hard at the colors, textures, etc.

Worth1000.com has some pretty cool photoshop contests. You may be able to get ideas from there.

Good luck. It sounds fun!

What Photoshop version is the best for drawing and coloring?

Posted on 26. Aug, 2011 by admin in photoshop

I am possibly gonna be able to get a photoshop program for my art. But I’d like to know which is the best, and cheapest, and is the best for drawing and coloring. You know with the smudge, burn, blur, and so on tools, and the different brushes.

What would you think?

If drawing and coloring is all you expect to do, then a copy of Photoshop Elements will do that and much, much more. The advantage is that even the most recent version retails for less than $100 and legal, obsolete versions are available, online, for much less.

WAY too many people spend big bucks on full version Photoshop apps and never come close to using them to their full potential. It’s like spending a couple of hundred thousand dollars on a high end sports car and using it to go fetch groceries.

Shop around and find a version of Adobe Photoshop Elements. I’ll bet you won’t be disappointed.

What’s the difference between Photoshop and Photoshop Elements?

Posted on 23. Aug, 2011 by admin in photoshop

I really like photoshop, we have it at school and I use it alot. My dad said I could get it, but it’s really expensive so he wanted me to find out if Photoshop elements was good. What does it let you do?

Photoshop elements is a "light" version of Photoshop, aimed less towards professional users. It has a completely different user interface, but hosts many of the most important Photoshop tools.

So to sum it up:
Photoshop Elements – Light version, different UI
Photoshop – The normal Photoshop you probably have at school
(Photoshop Extended – A few extra specialist tools)

Also, remember that you can get student licenses for the programs at a reduced price. If you want to break the law, you could also download a full version of the web.

— From one of my links: —
Some of the features in Photoshop CS3 that are not included in Photoshop Elements 6 are:

* CMYK and LAB color modes
* More tools and features that work with high-bit (16-bit and 32-bit) images
* Combine multiple exposures to create high dynamic range (HDR) images
* Channels Palette
* Recording custom Actions (for batch processing)
* Adjustments: Color Balance, Match Color
* Layer Masks, Layer Comps, and Quick Mask mode
* Smart Objects, Smart Guides
* Lens Blur Filter
* Vanishing Point Tool
* Pen tool and paths palette
* Some adjustment layers (curves, color balance, selective color, channel mixer)
* Editing History Log
* Text on a path, advanced text formatting
* Advanced Layer Style manipulation
* Advanced Color Management
* Advanced Web features (rollovers, slicing)
* Customizable tool presets, keyboard shortcuts, and menus
* In the features and tools that are shared, the Photoshop version usually offers more advanced options for fine tuning and control.

What is the best photoshop to get to use with a wacom tablet?

Posted on 21. Aug, 2011 by admin in photoshop

I’ve been doing a bit of research and i know I’m getting a tablet. But I don’t know what program i should get to use with it. I have Gimp and I heard that it was good to use with it but i kind of want Photoshop. I’m debating on wether to get Photoshop Elements or Photoshop Cs5. I mostly draw stuff like chibi characters from anime and manga and stuff like that. Please help!

Photoshop elements retails in the US for $99. It is on sale now around Christmas in the US for $49
Photoshop CS5 cost around $600 US. Both will work equally well with a wacom tablet. You will never outgrow Photoshop CS5 or above. Lots to learn and grow with there.

How much money do you want to spend? How serious are you?

How do I move photoshop from my old computer to my new computer?

I have photoshop on my current/old computer. I recently purchased a new computer and I can’t find my photoshop cd anywhere! Is there any way that I can download photoshop from my current/old computer and install it on my new computer?

If you registered it, you should have an Adobe account with your serial number, so call Adobe support.

What is the difference between Photoshop and Photoshop elements?

Posted on 17. Aug, 2011 by admin in photoshop

is there even a difference? Because i cant notice a thing that is different between these two photoshop apps. i have photoshop v. 7.0 and photoshop elements v.6.0 and i don’t see what the difference is between them. Maybe you know of something that one program has that the other one doesn’t.

basically photoshop elements is a watered down version of the regular photoshop, the key differences are:
pse doesn’t have colour balance tools
the interface is different
photoshop is more for the professional
while pse is for photographers and that alone
and last
there aren’t as many graphic effect tools as as in photoshop

How to photoshop myself into another picture using Photoshop elements?

Posted on 15. Aug, 2011 by admin in photoshop

Can you please give me step by step info on how to photoshop myself into a picture in photoshop elements icon smile How to photoshop myself into another picture using Photoshop elements? thanks!

First select the magnetic lasso, draw a line around your self. Press control+c or command+c for mac.
Open your picture you want to use as a background in photoshop. Press command+v or control+v to copy yourself into the picture.

Use filters and adjust the colors to make sure you are fitting properly in the photo (e.g. when everything is very white and bright, while you are dark and yellow, you need to change the white balance and intensity etc).

You could also press the kind of camera, then draw exactly over yourself and then press the camera (on the left bar, low). Now you are selected. Or you could make a picture of yourself on a white background. Then delete the white background by picking a color, or selecting the magic wand (on the left bar, somewhere above. you might need to right click) and deleting areas.
